Classes meet 3 hours of lecture and 3 hours of lab each week (fall and spring). In the 5-week summer terms, lecture time is 2 hours a day, 4 days a week, and lab meets 3 days a week.

Lab includes microscopy, dissection experiences, computer simulations/tutorials, and study of human models, along with demonstrations of physiological processes with human subjects.

Guidelines for study include a minimum of 2-3 hours outside of class for each hour of class, both lecture and lab.

Required course materials include a textbook and a lab guide.  Additional text materials are optional. Students provide gloves for dissection; the College provides specimens and equipment.

Study aids are available, including a CD with images of both lab specimens and microscope slides. Tutoring by peers is provided by the College at no cost to the students.
