State Park, New Mexico

Cretaceous outcrops containing dinosaur tracks and other sedimentary rock features;
see pronghorns
Day 2 Mt. Capulin, New Mexico

to Colorado Springs

Cinder cone volcano
Day 3 Garden of the Gods Weathered remnants of ancient mountains
Day 3 Florissant Fossil Bed Ancient lake of Eocene age with fossilized animals and plants due to volcanic activity; trip to quarry
Day 4 Denver to YMCA of the Rockies, Estes Park National Earthquake Center; Red Rocks Park; Dinosaur Ridge
Day 5 Rocky Mountain National Park Study glacial topography, alpine wildlife (bighorn sheep, moose, mountain goats, etc.) and vegetation.
Day 6 Rocky Mountain National Park Study glacial topography, alpine wildlife (bighorn sheep, mountain goats, etc.) and vegetation
Day 7 Mt. Evans area Alpine Garden Trail; krummholz community
Day 8 Mt. Evans area Colorado School of Mines Experimental Mine
Day 9 Mt. Evans to NM Raft Trip (OPTIONAL - extra cost)
