Already recognized by the American Association of
Botanical Gardens and Arboreta, the Tyler Botanical Gardens at Tyler Junior College will
be like no other attraction in East Texas.
"We believe this will benefit the entire
East Texas area," says Ina Brundrett, president of the Texas Garden Clubs, Inc. and
executive director of the gardens' steering committee. "The primary goal is to
enhance the educational experience of students, but the gardens will also serve as a site
for endangered or threatened species, a place for new plant introduction and research and
a wonderful place for visitors."
